The UPROKA is a national umbrella organization, distributed in 14 provinces at the moment and has spread throughout the Burkinabe territory. Is in 2004, UPROKA is part of the institutional organizations in the supply chain, oilseeds and local products. It brings together 4,500 women divided into three links:
1) link in the collection and distribution of shea kernels.
2) link in the production of shea butter;
3) link in the processing of butter into products (cosmetic soap, ointment, cream, liquid soap, shampoo …)
UPROKA is interested in organizational strengthening and local capacity of organizations of women producers at the base.
L’UPROKA
L’UPROKA est une organisation faîtière nationale, repartie dans 14 provinces pour le moment et compte s’étendre sur tout le territoire Burkinabé. Constitue en 2004, UPROKA s’inscrit dans l’encrage institutionnel des organisations de la filière agroalimentaire, les oléagineux et les produits du cru. Elle regroupe 4500 femmes reparties en 3 maillons :
1) Maillon de la collecte et la distribution des amandes de karité ;
2) Maillon de la production du beurre de karité ;
3) Maillon de la transformation du beurre en produits dérivés (cosmétique : savon, pommade, crème, savon liquide, shampoing…)
§UPROKA s’intéresse au renforcement organisationnel et aux capacités locales des groupements de femmes productrices à la base.
